?What is it that caused a handsome, 19 year old young man to give up his dance hall loving lifestyle and also leave his girl friend, and with her consent take the child they just had? Why? He had chosen to earnestly and steadfastly follow Christ for the rest of his life. This of course was after visiting a Sunday School Class where he heard a clear presentation of the gospel.

?He would tell you he had met and decided to follow Jesus; whatever the cost. This he did for the rest of his 78 years given by God. One of his favourite choruses became: ” It was a great change since I was born.The things I used to do I do them no more, places I used to go….”

?The truth is he was made a new man in Christ with a brand new nature. This was my father whose life, example and testimony or record of a life surrendered to God deeply impacted many including mine from a very young age.

? *The truth is salvation is a change of nature.* It is not just a mental shift or change of mind and behaviour. Sure enough the work done by the Holy Spirit changes the governing preference of the mind. However, one of the most awesome work of God done in the new Creation is the removal of the law of sin and death we inherited from the first man Adam and the installing of the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. This frees us from law of sin and death; as EW. Kenyon states:” *Eternal life is the nature of God.”*

?Why then do some Christians not walk after the nature of Christ but walk contrary to the nature, life, or law of God installed in them at the new birth?

?This is because the souls of those born again *must be nurtured by the pure Word of God to which they must choose to walk in obedience daily.*
On the other hand some persons call themselves “Christians” by association or choice of religion but have never been born again. Thus they donot have the nature of God and cannot manifest His life and character.
