*Eternal Perspectives*
*The Hard Way*
?Have you ever done something the hard way and then found out there was a much easier way you could have done it?. You were elated when you found out weren’t you?
? *God says ” the way of the transgressor or the one who walks in disobedience and rebellion to Him is hard.”*
?I remember looking into the face of my grandfather and seeing much pain and regret.
He had spent 82 years of his life away from God. Time seemed to have passed so quickly. By now he was blind, ill and bed-ridden. He regretted:
? the times he wasted being drunk.
?the many times he rejected our invitation to accept Christ in his life and to attend church.
?By now his heart had softened towards God and receptive to the gospel. We all loved him dearly and knew that only God could give his restless soul peace.
?The negative situations or hardness he expereinced in his life were due to poor choices. He needed to be saved and wiith this, He could have had that innate ability or divine enablement at salvation; to choose to resist the addiction to alcohol. He would also have had the desire to be with the people of God instead of hanging out at the bar.
Today, I have much compassion for alcoholics. It is the wrong, deadly and hard way of the foolish. “Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.” Prov. 20:1
?The good thing is that once the transgressor turns to God he gets a new start and all he needs to do is choose to walk in obedience to God.
? God has given all of us an allotted time to find Him and live out the purpose for which He created us. He has the blueprint for our lives, His way is the easy way.
Doing things our way is the hard way. We get to choose.

?Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard. Prov.13:15 KJV
?But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live. Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord God : and not that he should return from his ways, and live?

*Reflection*
God’s way is easy, and leads to everlasting life. You are joined to Him at salvation and His burden is light. The devil’s way is hard and ultimately leads to death. Which way are you taking?
