*Break, eat and share.* *Eternal Perspectives: The Record: Humility- Its benefits and rewards*

?There was a time when I resented God for the direction my life was taking. I thought my christian upbringing was bondage. I now thank God for the gift of His Holy Spirit, my family and the principles of God I was taught. I now
treasure that much more than any material possessions that my parents could have given me; as they were in fact the boundaries God placed in my life to keep my soul anchored in Him. I am now eternally grateful for those who loved me enough to correct me and pray for me setting up roadblocks in my
life, and directing me to God’s purpose.

?Knowing for sure that we are children of God, is very comforting and brings feelings of security as we know our souls are safe with Him. *However, to finish well we must walk in humility as Jesus our example did*. I have come to see that humility involves:

*Trusting God*
Humility involves trusting God even when it seems like the rug have been pulled from under our feet. It is knowing He is always in control.

*Obeying God*
Humility is being obedient to God, and as we begin to hear,
know and obey the voice of God we avoid the pitfalls that come from rebellion and disobedience. This saves us from unnecessary pain and loss as we are on track with God’s roadmap for our lives. The humble person realises that God knows best and does not struggle at His word and will.

*Resting in God*
Humility is knowing that we are God ‘s original design and masterpiece. When we realise that God made us for a specific purpose, this frees us from looking to any other person or thing to complete us. We will live our lives using our gifts and abilities for their designed purpose. This frees us from senseless comparisons,
pride and envy. We seek the lord and rest in His original design and plan for us and are released to fulfil our destiny in God in honour.

*Being bold in God*
When we truly understand
humility it shatters the misconception of that person being shy and soft spoken. The humble is bold and fearless because they trust God knowing He is at work in them no matter how daunting the task is.

*Scripture in Focus*
?“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you,and learn of me; for I am *meek* and lowly in heart: and ye shall find *rest* unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30, KJV

?The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and *before honour is humility.* ”
Proverbs 15:33, KJV

*Reflection:*
Walking in humility before God allows Him to fulfil His purpose in our lives. If you despise God’s dealings, route, roadblocks and timing in your life, you can lose your soul. Choose to
humble yourself to Him and trust His love for you today.
