*Eternal Perspectives*
*Eternity, Purpose and Time*
?God created time to reveal His eternal purpose in our lives. Even in negative situations He is working all things according to His own will.
? I will never forget the day my mother told me that there was a time in her life when she wanted a new way of life. She was tired of the relationship with my Father (at that time they were not yet married ). She recounted that she
desired to travel to Panama for a more progressive life.
?However, a few days later, she found out that she was pregnant. One of her friends gave her the information on how she could abort or get rid of the child.
She desperately wanted a way out.
?The first time she visited the institution to get the abortion done, the doctor was not present and the nurse gave her another date. The second time she went the machine broke down while she was set and ready for the operation. She persisted and the third time she went the Doctor said. “Mother, it is too late, you have to carry this child”.
?That child was me.
I can recall her smiling as she told me that the day I was born her first words were “Thank you Jesus” to the point where the nurse called me “Thank u Jesus”.
?I now see that in spite of all the negative aspects surrounding my life purpose was born….it so happened that in her old age, she had dementia (Alzheimer) and I watched how God looked in time and knew that she would have needed me to take care of her.
Now I was taking care of my mother without her even knowing who I was but God knew that this would happen and was a part of my purpose in life.
?My testimony is that we may not know what to do and sometimes our back is against the wall but we should always remember that all things are working for our good.
?I have questioned God as to what is my purpose and why am I here?
Sometimes we may not know this right away but if we choose to remain in God’s will and look on His footprints in our lives, we will see that He was there all the time birthing purpose in
us and empowering us to live it out for His glory and honour.

*Reflection*
Take some time to reflect on the things that has happened in your life. Do you see God’s footprints? Do you see His purpose being worked out or fulfilled in your life?
